Tiptoe Sandbox Support

Sandboxing was introduced in OS X Lion to provide improved security for applications. Sandboxed applications can sometimes prevent Tiptoe from providing full privacy. More information about affected applications can be found below.

Sandbox Affected Applications

Preview

In Preview sandboxing affects the discarding of windows. This means that Preview won't clear window state between sessions.

This can be mitigated by quitting Preview with ⌥⌘Q to Quit and Discard Windows.

Also in Preview remembered document states are affected by sandboxing. This means that Tiptoe won't clear the particular page of a PDF you were viewing - so if the same document is open again, the last viewed page of that document will be displayed.

This can be mitigated by returning to the start of each PDF document before you quit Preview.

TextEdit

In TextEdit sandboxing affects the discarding of windows. This means that TextEdit won't clear window state between sessions.

This can be mitigated by quitting TextEdit with ⌥⌘Q to Quit and Discard Windows.
