Editing Masks

After you open a photo in the Discretion app, you can use the Mask Editor to change the style of existing masks, move and resize masks, and delete and add masks.

Select and Deselect a Mask

  • To select a mask tap on it.
    The selected mask is surrounded by a rectangle border with grab handles at each corner.

  • To deselect a mask tap elsewhere on the photo.

Change the Style of a Mask to an Emoji Mask

  • Select a mask by tapping on it.
  • Tap Mask Type button in the style bar.
  • Select Emoji .
  • To pick a different emoji, tap the Emoji button in the style bar.

Change the Style of a Mask to a Fill Mask

  • Select a mask by tapping on it.
  • Tap Mask Type button in the style bar.
  • Select Fill .
  • Tap the Mask Shape button in the style bar to choose a Round or Rectangle fill shape.
  • Tap the Mask Color button in the style bar to choose a Black, White or Gray fill color.

Move a Mask

  • Drag from the centre of a selected mask to move it.

Resize a Mask

  • Drag from the corner of a selected mask to resize it.

Delete a Mask

    On iPhone or iPad:
  • Select a mask by tapping on it.
  • Select Delete from the mask edit menu.
  • On Mac:
  • Select a mask by tapping on it.
  • Tap the More button and select Delete Mask.

Add a Mask

    On iPhone or iPad:
  • If a mask is selected, deselect it.
  • Tap on an area of the photo without a mask.
  • Select Add Mask from the edit menu.
  • On Mac:
  • If a mask is selected, deselect it.
  • Tap on an area of the photo without a mask.
  • Tap the More button and select Add Mask.
